Justice for the Hmong of Laos.

Please take the time to read this.

Please support human rights in Laos, the Hmong people of Laos are still suffering from decades of genocide and broken promises.

*Please continue reading*

THE HMONG TODAY

The Hmong groups today, consisting for the most part of half-starved women and children.
Are made up of relatives of the second or third generation of the former fighters in the Secret War or of simple farmers, who are suspected by the military of supporting groups in hiding. Most have not seen the modern world. Since 1975 far to scared of the government troops who hunt them. At least 12,000 are said to exist, with little food, scavenging in the jungle.

The Hmong could neither plant food nor make fire for fear of being detected by the soldiers. Eating nothing but roots and plants. Many die of starvation, exhaustion, sickness or because injuries cannot be attended to.

The Hmong’s only aim is to escape the murderous violence of the soldiers and survive in peace with the forest.

WHY NOT JUST COME OUT OF THE JUNLE

Over thirty years and a generation later the Hmong are still in hiding and still being attacked, chased, raped and killed by Laotian soldiers. Those who surrender face an uncertain fate. Many who do surrender are treated like dirt often tortured, mutilated and even killed. As for the women and children who surrender many are abused and raped.

Most have not seen the modern world. Since 1975, under the communists, thousands of reports evidence the Hmong have suffered frequent persecution, torture, mass executions, imprisonment, and possible chemical weapons attacks. Reports of these atrocities continue to this day.

THE LAOTIAN GOVERNMENT

The Lao Government generally denies the jungle people exist or that any of this is happening. To the present day the government of Laos denies any violations of human rights against the Hmong, but it also refuses the UN and journalists access to the crisis area. For the Laotian government the would have you believe. the Hmong hiding in the woods are rebels.

THE LAOTIAN TROOPS

Once the Hmong are first pinpointed by fighter aircraft and helicopters are then bombed with chemical warfare agents or grenades. The Hmong who fall into the hands of the advancing ground-troops are cruelly tortured, mutilated, raped, imprisonment and mass executioned.
Not even to babies is any mercy shown.
On 6th April 2006 near the town of Vana Vieng at least 26 women and children were murdered. Twelve children were below the age of ten.

THE WAR THAT NEVER WAS.

The C.I.A. operation, from 1961 until 1975, became known as the Secret War because, unlike in Vietnam, America’s military involvement in Laos was covert. Instead of sending American ground troops to prevent a Communist takeover here, the C.I.A. hired tens of thousands of mercenaries, most of whom were Hmong, a hill-dwelling ethnic minority.
It is stated that 30,000 Hmong were killed in Americans War.

Hmong, who fought as CIA soldiers during the Secret War, retreated into the inaccessible mountains of Laos after being abandoned by the US government.
Still today the Hmong are being Hunted like Animals. pulled out in 1975. They became targets of persecution and retaliation due to their role in the Vietnam War.

STOP THE USE OF DOGS AS SHARK BAIT

Stray and stolen dogs are being skewered on hooks and dragged behind boats as live baits by amateur fisherman on Reunion Island (a French controlled island for the coast of Southern Africa east of Madagascar).

First spotted in 2005 by European media, the practise still continues in secret today. Scientific studies states the island is bursting with over 150,000 stray dogs. Many locals view all dogs as vermin and because of this they don’t care about the animals rights.

October of 2005, the first court case was held involving a person charged with using live dogs as bait. Authorities had found a seven-month-old puppy on John Claude Clain's property in July with three fishing hooks in its paws and snout.

Clain, a 51-year-old bread delivery person, was found guilty of animal cruelty and fined 5,000 Euros (U.S. $5,982), according to Clicanoo, a RĂ©union newspaper.

According to the same newspaper.

- Once a dog is capture they are hooked, the day before, so they can bleed sufficiently.
- Some escape before being tossed into the ocean. Others aren't so lucky.
- After hooks are plunged into their paws and/or snouts, the animals are attached to inflatable tubes with fishing line and dumped into the ocean.
-To avoid detection fishers place their bait in the middle of the night, according to the newspaper account. In the morning the men return to see if a shark has been caught.
- Such a horrific way to die.

It has now become illegal for fishing boats to carry any live or dead dogs on the island.
The French Embassy in Washington, D.C., issued a written statement condemning the use of dogs as shark bait, emphasizing that such acts are illegal and will not be tolerated in the French territory.

Help Save the Tasmanian Devil.

Help support one of Mother Nature’s truly remarkable and misunderstood animals in its fight to survive.

The Tasmanian devil of Australia faces
an uncertain future, with deforestation, hunting, and a fatal Devil Facial Tumour Disease (DFTD).

This disease is wiping out more than 90% of adults in high density areas and 40-50% in medium-low density areas. The disease is characterised by
tumours mainly around the head and jaw of the animal. Once with the disease, the animal, 3-5 months later will painfully starve to its death.

This disease is not the only factor threatening the devil existence. Through hunting by some farmer’s and deforestation by large corporations, the devil is in a battle they cant win on there own.

HABITAT
It is reported that over 20,000 hectares of native forest in Tasmania are
clear felled and burned every year. The logging rate in Tasmania has quadrupled over the last 10 years. Logging companies profits have steadily increased.

HISTORY
Back in 1930s the Tasmanian government introduced a bounty scheme to remove devils.
For more then 100 years the animals were poisoned, trapped and shot on site. The animal was facing extinction till the species was protected by law in June of 1941. Many farmers to this day still kill the Tasmanian devil.

The time is NOW for all of us to lend our support for the devil and its habitat, before
it’s lost in the wild forever...

I’m an active field researcher in West Pencil Pine, Tasmania. I have seen first hand the devastation caused both from the disease and through deforestation.

The experts view on the devils
and climate change;

"There's a real risk of extinction within 20 years across the whole of Tasmania," said Hamish McCallum, a professor of wildlife research at the University of Tasmania.

"Unlocking the stored sunlight in wood for the production of renewable energy has taken off across the globe, with good
reason. Basically this clown Bob Gordon, who is the governments" head of managing the state's forests, believes generating power from wood rather than coal was part of the solution to climate change......
This man is directly in charge on the Tasmanian devils habitat.

"Any state government that had the simplest of understandings of the critical role forests play in mitigating against climate change would rule the practice out immediately", Mr Booth, the leader of the green
political party in Australia, said.

Join with me to give a voice for these animals. Be a part of the
solution, together we will make a difference.

Money raised will directly go to
field research / deforestation projects in Tasmania and the University Foundation at Tasmania.

Stay tuned
for further developments.
