In 4 days, 2 African governments Tanzania and Zambia will try to pry open the worldwide ban on ivory trading. If given the go ahead, this could wipe out whole elephant population.

These two countrys are lobbying the UN for special exemptions from the ban !!

If the UN gives the green light poaches will come from all over the globe to clame there bounty. Giving a even greater power to the already powerful ivory crime syndicates. That dispite the ban, each year over 30,000 elephants are gunned down and their tusks hacked off by poachers with axes and chainsaws.

Imagine if Tanzania and Zambia are successful in exploiting the loophole... The flood gates will open and such a majestic animal will forever be lost.

The divide between the rich and the poor nations is absurd and growing rapidly out of control. The world's main watch dog The United Nations is helpless.

The UN's food and agricultural organisation and other analysts estimate that nearly 20m hectares (50m acres) of third world farmland have been sold or negotiated for sale or lease in the last six months. This is lead by the wealthier countries too concerned about there own food securities.

Put into perspective, 10m hectares were bought last year!!!

- South Korea's acquisition of 700,000ha in Sudan.
- Saudi Arabia's purchase of 500,000ha in Tanzania.
- The Democratic Republic of the Congo expects to shortly conclude an 8m-hectare deal with a group of South African businesses to grow maize and soya beans as well as poultry and dairy farming.
- India has lent money to 80 companies to buy 350,000ha in Africa.
- At least six countries are known to have bought large landholdings in Sudan, one of the least food secure countries in the world.

Big Business Deals Include
- Alpcot Agro of Sweden bought 120,000ha in Russia
- South Korea's Hyundai bought majority stake of 10,000ha in Eastern Siberia
- Morgan Stanley has bought 40,000ha in Ukraine.
- South Korea's Daewoo signed a 99-year lease for 1.3m hectares of agricultural land in Madagascar.


I can not comprehend the greed and total disregard for human life. It's a disgrace and an outrage that in country's where people are dying every second from a lack of food and water, that the value of money can surpass the value of life !!

MYSTERY DISAPPEARANCE OF THE HONEY BEE

Never underestimate the power and importance of nature. With that, the Honeybee's population is in decline at a phenomenal rate.

SO WHAT ?
Truth is- without these amazing insects, we position ourselves to loose vital crops causing a decline to access of natural foods and medicines deriving from plants.
many of which we simply take for granted.

From 2007- 2008 the honeybee population has decreased by 30%. However not enough action has been taken in addressing this alarming matter.
If 1 of every 3 cows in your country was dropping dead, you can bet the Department of Agriculture would be moving heaven and earth to find a cure.

WAKE UP !!!!!Simple fact- We don’t think to highly of bees, now do we ?

Colony Collapse Disorder, as it has been dubbed, is affecting 35 states in the US, as well as Europe, South America, India, and China.

Possible Causes-


1st THEORY - The bees may be dying not from a single toxin or disease but rather from an assault directed by a collection of pathogens. A research team led by entomologist May Berenbaum at the University of Illinois (U.S.A) compared the whole genome of honeybees that came from hives that had suffered from colony collapse disorder (CCD) with hives that were healthy. The sick bees exhibited genetic damage that could account for the die-off, and that damage indicated that they might be afflicted with multiple viruses simultaneously. This could weaken them enough to trigger CCD. It's like a perfect storm.
Honey bees were being predicted to be extinct in the US by 2035 before CCD, just from loss of habitat, pesticides, and parasites. Now it’s likely to happen much sooner.

2nd THEORY - The use of chemicals, such as herbicides and pesticides, on crops. Farmers treat the plants, and the honeybees are exposed to this as they collect the pollen from the plants. It's also thought that genetically altered plants may not supply the same quality pollen as organic plants may. This would mean the bees are not receiving the proper nutrients to survive and are dying off due to malnutrition. Hives that pollinate organic crops are not dying at the same rapid rate as other honeybees.

OTHER THEORY -
GLOBAL WARMING - Blamed for so many other problems, could be the cause of the honeybees disappearing. The warmer weather is increasing the growth of mites, viruses and fungi in hives and killing the honeybees.

RADIATION EMITTED BY CELL PHONES- Causing the bees to not find their way back to their hives. A study in Germany shows that it may actually be credible. The bees could not get back to their hive when cell phones were near.


Since scientists and biologists are unable to find a single cause for the disappearance of honeybees, Perhaps the answer lies with a combination of theory's.

The US, UK and other Council members are still dragging their feet, concerned about challenging China, a key sponsor of the Burmese regime. If a global outcry demands it, they will try harder to get China to agree.

This may lead to history repeating as happened when the Council decided to allow prosecution of another China sponsored regime in the case of Darfur, Sudan.

Now is the time for the UN (United Nations) Security Council to act and investigate the regime for crimes against humanity. Lead to prosecution of top generals by the International Criminal Court.

The shark either starves to death or drown (if they are not in constant movement their gills cannot extract oxygen from the water).

The money greedy Peruvian government has pushed through legislation that could allow extractive and large scale farming companies to rapidly destroy their Amazon rainforest.


The indigenous people of Peru have peacefully protested for over two months demanding the government to reconsider. These tribal people who still call the Amazon there home, will be forced from there lands, imprisoned or even killed if they don't cooperate with government.


But last weekend President Garcia responded: sending in special forces to suppress protests in violent clashes, and labelling the protesters as terrorists.


We all need to wake up. Never believe what they the media try and feed us. Governments world wide rape, exploit an destroy the earth for there own greed.

The amazon region is home to at least 40,000 plant species, 3,000 fish, 1,294 birds, 427 mammals, 428 amphibians, and 378 reptiles. One in five of all the birds in the world live in the rainforests of the Amazon.
